Organize Your Life
Majority of the time we all feel so crazy busy and everything is just too much, and we don’t have time to add in anything else and especially working out and eating healthy because it’s just too time consuming, right? A lot of this can be changed just by organizing all aspects of your life! If you organize your life, you will find that you actually do have plenty of time to achieve the necessary things you need done in your daily life which helps reduce stress and anxiety.
The number one place I tell my clients to begin organizing their life is in their home. If your home is in chaos then your life is in chaos! If your home is filled with clutter everywhere then that brings additional anxiety in so many areas, you don’t even realize it until you alleviate it. If your home has clutter then your brain automatically is cluttered. You can’t escape it. You can’t organize clutter. If you’re constantly looking for things or picking stuff up, and just spinning your wheels… it’s too much clutter. You must reduce it. Only then can you organize it to help create systems to make your life easier. For example, if you clear out and declutter your closets and drawers and only keep the items you love, you can find the items you want to wear each day, which buys you time when getting ready. Clean out your refrigerator and kitchen cabinets so you know exactly the food you have, it doesn’t get wasted (and waste money) and you know exactly what you need to purchase for your weekly menu. Then you aren’t trying to figure out what to eat every day and digging through the mess you have. It buys you more time which makes it easier to eat healthy! If there is clutter anywhere in your house from the attic to the basement and anywhere in between, it only brings more anxiety in the back of your head. So begin organizing your life with organizing your home! A great book to read for this is, Marie Kondo- The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up. Game changer and change your life!
Next, set goals in play for all areas of your life:
Financials
Fitness
Nutrition
Significant other
Family
Work
Friends
Diagnose these areas. Find the areas you need to improve and set goals accordingly. But these goals have no relevance unless you put an action plan together in order to achieve them so you can accomplish them and mark them off your list. You need to plan each day and aim for productivity. In order to be productive you need to organize your day. Schedule out every detail of your whole day, Example:
Work
Appointments
Workout
Every meal
House chores
Answering emails/ messages
Family time
If you set the goal then the steps need to be put in your schedule every day to keep you organized, productive, and actively working towards accomplishing those goals. If you try “flying by the seat of your pants” every day then you will continue to feel like you’re running in a hamster wheel every day. You can’t cover everything when it’s all thrown in a pile but if you organize your time, you will find you have plenty of time in each day to allocate towards the most important aspects of what will get you one more step closer towards your goals. For example, you might not “have time” to workout and then find that actually you spend 3 hours a day watching tv or on social media. Reduce that down and allocate that time towards your workout. Schedule your workout every day just as if it’s a work appointment. It’s set in stone and work around it. Schedule in when you’re going to eat, what you’re going to eat, and if it needs prepped ahead of time bc you won’t “have time” to make food that day. If you plan it and are prepared, then you can’t fail!
In organizing your life, you must figure out your priorities and get your plan together. There is a difference between priorities, needs, and wants. Figure out what these are in relation to your goals and begin with organizing your home and as long as you follow through with your plan and schedule each day and practice winning the day, your life will become organized, and you’ll be back in control. Make the conscious effort to make the changes, and it’ll happen. Changes to your life won’t come by continuing to do things the same way.
