How To Be Motivated
How do you stay motivated day in and day out and especially during difficult times like holidays and events? How do you push yourself every day to go workout and put in a lot of effort to work hard? How do you keep from eating everything that is tempting?
The only answer is discipline. No one will ever always be motivated. On the days you are motivated, take it and run with it! But that won’t happen on most days. This is where you rely on discipline. You go and push yourself through your workout bc you have to. You put it in your schedule like it’s an appointment and no different than going to work, and you get it done. You don’t allow wiggle room for excuses to pop in and take over. If you allow yourself to even consider your excuses then they will win. Excuses will win every time. You cannot allow that to get in your head and poison your thoughts. You will never get anywhere if you allow your excuses to control you. This is your health we are talking about. Your health will continue to diminish if you let your excuses take over.
Create healthy habits. Make yourself a priority. Make your health a priority. If you create these healthy habits then the discipline will come. You won’t be so inclined to make unhealthy choices and give in to temptation of foods you shouldn’t be choosing. All of your current choices are merely habits. Create new healthy habits that will need to be forced in the beginning and then it will become your new habit and new discipline. Example, if you always have an unhealthy snack before bed (ex bag of chips) then change this snack to a protein snack like some turkey or chicken, a protein shake, or a protein mug cake! Or if you always have dessert after dinner, cut that out and reduce to once a week. It has simply become a habit. How many hours of TV do you watch a day? Instead of so many hours of tv, add a 60 minute walk.
Change the habit. Create a healthier habit.
Discipline yourself to follow through with these healthy habits. Ignore the excuses and do not rely on motivation. I tell you what is motivating though… when you start getting good results and feeling and looking better. So motivating!
